It was my sophomore year here at the University of Tennessee, and college game day was being hosted here during the big game against Coach Calipari and the University of Kentucky. Now, this was sure to be a big event so UT pulled out all the big stops, the main one being, hosting a “sleep over” of sorts in the arena so that students could get the best seats possible and be ready to cheer on the Vols come game time. My friends and I decided to brave the -62 degree Knoxville winter weather, and wait in line outside the arena just to get in and witness the greatness. After about two hours of waiting in the freezing cold, the doors finally opened and we were allowed to enter in and begin our night of food, fun and fellowship with our peers. It was a great experience, one I’ll never forget.
